Restaurants --- probably the most frequently asked question " where's a good place to eat"? First, let us qualify - what may be fillet mignon to us may be cold bologna sandwich to you. We say fried, you say greasy. We say tomato, you say tomoto. You get the idea-that being said.

Captain Joey Patti's Seafood Deli --Around the corner on the right from the Joe Patti's huge 'seafood-a-rama' is a modest sized seafood eatery with quick, friendly service, and great prices. Fat Backs--not BBQ as you might think from the name. Avoid the crowds...this is sort of a secret spot that locals like. This upscale restaurant has a special chef and offers seafood and delicious sweet potato fries. They have gigantic hamburgers, salads, panini sandwiches, gumbo, and melt in your mouth rolls. Ask for some. You'll have a wonderful view of the marina and seating is both indoor and out on the porch. The generously sized arm chairs on the porch are especially comfortable. Cosmo's - Want great food in a fun, relaxing atmosphere? One of Orange Beach's newest restaurants Cosmo’s could be your answer. It’s Caribbean décor has one humming " Don't Worry, Be Happy." from the moment you enter the door. The menu offers a great selection to suit every taste: for the fish lover: banana leaf wrapped fish, for a taste of New Orleans: muffaletta pasta, for a taste of Greek food: feta stuffed filet, for the manly man: bourbon & teriyaki ribeye, and the All-American hamburger. There is also sushi available after 5 pm. Some of our favorites are the sesame seared tuna salad and crab cakes. These crab cakes could be proudly served in Maryland. They are filled will loads of crabmeat, not bread crumb fillers. To top off your meal, get a dessert. Seriously-get a dessert!!! The peanut butter pie is to die for (well, maybe swoon) and for the chocolate lover, get the chocolate creation. The choice changes daily.... but it's always chocolate. Leave time to visit the bar. It's large and airy with a good selection of wines. Plus one of our favorite bartenders, Jennie Lynn, (can't leave out Susie at the Silver Moon) serves you drinks with a friendly smile. She's there for Manic Monday. Jennie loves the lady singer and swears she's great. And Jennie Lynn is never wrong about music. Live entertainment Mondays & Thurs-Sat. P.S. Cosmo’s is not named for a drink with cranberry juice or an Italian grandfather. Cosmo is a dog retrieved from an animal shelter. Good food! Good times! Good people! Lulu's at Homeport Marina - Lulu is the sister of Jimmy Buffet-and sometimes (in a blue moon) he's there. When you think beach bar-lots of sand, sun and singers-this is the place. It's kid- friendly, with the crowd growing older as the nite grows longer. Check the mullet wrapper or the pelican for who will be playing. Menu is varied but try the "redneck" caviar. The Keg- Most locals think the keg has the best cheeseburger on the island. You must be a member, however membership comes cheap-one whole dollar!

Calypso Joe's - What's that strange sound? It's a conch shell-blowing in the wind. The hermit crab races are on!!!!! "Parents Magazine" rates this restaurant very highly. Fun place to be. Caribbean fare. We love the crabmeat gazpacho. Fun decor in a lively setting

Moe's Original B-B-Que - BBQ good enough it impressed Lundy (our webmaster) and moi. Lundy is from Memphis and i am from Lexington NC, the B-B-Que capitol of the world. Moe's original recipe comes from Vail, CO by way of Tuscaloosa, al. We love their food. The pulled pork is so tender and the sides are just like mom used to make. If you are lucky enough to be there when the special side is mac and cheese, try it-- it's wonderful. It's almost as good as Lexington bar-b-que--almost. If you go, please tell them Picard sent you.
