Nothing beats a relaxing day at the beach. These photos were taken in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach and the water really was this beautiful color.

 
For some evening fun, go to Calypso Grill aka Calypso Joe's at Orange Beach Marina, have supper and watch the crab races.

This senior citizen was enjoying a quiet Little Lagoon cruise in late afternoon. Our Little Lagoon is not 'little' at all. It is a large and shallow body of clear water that connects to the Gulf of Mexico through a pass on West Beach called 'Lagoon Pass'. A great deal of the shores of Little Lagoon is managed wildlife area so there is no end to the interesting birds and sea life you see in and around it. In late afternoon,close to the shore, you will see silvery fish leap high into the air during the warm months recalling the words in the Gershwin song "Summertime"...."the fish are jumping and the cotton is high".

Pirate's Island Adventure Golf in Gulf Shores

Right on Hwy 59 in Gulf Shores is the beautiful and beautifully maintained Pirate's Island Adventure Golf. On the only mountain   in Gulf Shores, Pirate Golf (as the kids call it) is a very popular family spot. In the evenings, a soft mist rises from various areas in the garden-like setting giving a 'other worldly' feel to the waterfalls & your adventure. They offer coupons and special pricing to play before 5 p.m. Check the local free tourist publications for a coupon.

For a Water-full good time, spend the day at Gulf Shores' Waterville on Hwy 59. The water areas of the park are open in the Summer & the amusement park operates in Fall & Spring too. Waterville has laser tag, mini golf, rollercoaster, arcade, kiddie rides and more.
